Which airport should you fly into for Courchevel?

Courchevel only has an altiport for small private aircraft. For most travellers, the answer is to land at one of the four airports in the region and continue by road. Here is how to choose the best one for your trip.

Geneva: the most common choice

With many connections to Europe, the Middle East and North America, Geneva is the go-to airport for Courchevel. Check whether you arrive on the Swiss or French side – it makes no difference for a private transfer, as your driver meets you wherever you come out.

Chambéry: the closest

Chambéry-Savoie Airport is ideal if your airline flies there: it is the shortest drive to the resort. Winter flights are mostly at weekends, with heavy traffic on Saturdays.

Lyon and Grenoble: good alternatives

Lyon Saint-Exupéry offers a wide choice of flights and an on-site TGV station; Grenoble welcomes many budget and charter flights. The drive is a little longer, but with a private driver those 2 h 30 pass in comfort.

What about the train?

Moûtiers station, 25 km from Courchevel, is served by TGV trains from Paris and seasonal trains from other European cities. A private transfer from Moûtiers gets you to the resort in about 35 minutes.
